Stripes, More Stripes and...yeah, Leopard.

Hey everyone!!!

I hope you all had a lovely weekend.  Here's looking to a great week!

*warning* pic heavy

Today's featured outfit...
Breton Stripes, Pinstripes, and a lil animal!

Before I get into that, a few things have gone on since my last post.  I have so much to talk about but I will try not to get long winded!

First...I crossed that 100 follower mark!
    Yayyyy!

I appreciate the first to the hundredth all the same.  I do this blogging thing for so many reasons but the biggest has got to be because it is fun and you meet so many great positive people.  You ALL stopping by every now and then makes this even more "funner"...lol.  I know that isn't grammatically correct, so no need to correct. :)
I want to THANK YOU for making this blogging experience all that!
Hugs and Blog Love!

Next,   I don't know if you know but....

THE NEW YORK GIANTS ARE GOING TO THE SUPERBOWL!!!

I will spare you all and keep my excitement toned down for now.

Ok..now back to the outfit. I wore this outfit on Friday to my boys' football awards banquet.  As always, for any event this organization does, all participants are to come dressed in STORM gear. The team colors happen to be my fave color combo; red, black and white.  Because this was the awards banquet, we had to leave the jerseys and t-shirts at home and take it up a notch.  It is always fun to see the young people get snazzy.
Wide leg Trousers: Ashley Stewart  Jacket: Thrifted  Tank: H&M  Shoes: K&G  Belt: Target  Clutch: Leather Man
Necklace: Street Vendor  Watch: Ashley Stewart

The fam!
The boys came home with a couple of awards!  As some of you know, the baby had a great year!  3Championship titles!!! My oldest came home with the Sportsmanship award!  He was nicknamed Slash by his head coach just like Kordell Stewart (former Steeler) for the same reasons.  He played everything...  quarterback slash running back slash wide receiver slash whatever you needed him to play.
Good job fellas!

Thanks again for stopping by!
Here is a preview of some upcoming posts.

It's a TWOFER 'cause it's a Lovely Day!

Happy Sunday Gals!

This has been the most restful weekend ever!  Yesterday I only got out the bed to eat and go to the bathroom.  It was good!  With the weather being really cold and gloomy, I felt like doing absolutely nothing and didn't feel bad about it.  My guys didn't bother me and all I kept singing was

Lovely day, lovely day, lovely day, LOVE-LY DAY!
Now the question is which version?  Ummm, Let's see...

Jill Scott?  love hers but...

It was the Originale...

Serious feel good music...Lovely day, lovely day...

Alright...today's post is a TWOFER!  Yes, two outfits in one post :-)

So let's get on with it

I wore this first outfit to work on Friday and then Mr. Mac and I went to see Red Tails that evening.   *side note* Please go see Red Tails...for more reasons than one!

I opted for no pops of color for no reason other than sometimes I just like to stay neutral.

I actually took these pics today because I didn't get a chance take any on Friday.
It was freeeezing out there, brrrrr!

The Fit:
Jeans - Levis
Polka Dot Blouse - NY & Co.
Cable Knit Sweater Vest - Walmart
Booties - K&G
Houndstooth Scarf - Burlington
Belt - Burlington
Rose Ring & Watch - Street Vendor

This next outfit was worn to church a couple of weeks ago.  I kept forgetting to post these pics, hence the twofer today.  Pretty simple looks for both but sometimes simple is better.

As you see I had to go to Club Wegman's (the grocery store) after church and decided to put on my combat boots for comfort.  Yeah, I roll like that!  Judge me if you like.

The Fit:
Top: Burlington
Skirt: Thrifted
Belt: Target

Combat Boots: Barefeet Shoes
Watch: Ashley Stewart

As usual, I really appreciate you stopping by.

Tangerine, Lemon and Blueberry!

Hey everybody!

Before I go any further let me say a special hello to all my new peeps!
I am humbled to have you follow me.  Hugz and blog love to you all!

Today we celebrate the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.  I hope you all found some time to reflect on what his efforts mean to your present day life.  I believe that because we've come along way from when Dr. King first set out to get some things changed, we tend to easily forget.  Yes, we've come a long way but we still have a some ways to go.
Happy Birthday Dr. King! Continue to Rest in Peace!

Next, I would like to say that I have been featured at Black Fashion Bloggers.  This is my first feature!  Yayyy! I want to thank Nika over there for doing the feature and I would be honored if you all would go over there and check it out!

Now...onto my outfit that I wore to church yesterday.
Tangerine, Lemon and Blueberry...a fruit salad and my fave...houndstooth!

I love how this outfit came together because of the vibrant colors.

The other thing I love about this outfit is that it is mostly thrifted!

The Fruity Fit:

Houndstooth Blouse: Thrifted
Black Maxi Skirt: Thrifted

It's Friiiidayyyy! Drop It Low!

Happy Friday Fashion Friends!

In my office we have a casual dress code on Fridays and I love it because I get to wear jeans.  As much as I like to dress up, throwing on a pair of jeans is more my speed.  I love a fab pair of pumps but I am a tomboy at heart, although I don't wear too many sneakers.  I'm off every other Friday so it is slightly different casual Friday for me.  Today's outfit is me showing you how I ro'...droppin' it really low.

My off Fridays I drop it really low...on the low low casual tip, that is *wink*

On today's Agenda:
Get my truck's emission inspection
Sell some donuts for my son's fundraiser
Go Thrifting
Try to prentend I am not going to Chipotle
Visit a SAHM friend
Do some house chores
Go to Chipotle and get my high
(because we all know crack is their secret ingredient)
Wait for the fam to come home
Enjoy some evening family time at home

So as you can see I am not doing much today and there is no real reason to get anymore dressed than I am.  I know some of you divas get all fabbed out to go to the mailbox.  I am not mad at you...WERK, I say but that is not me.  I am just keeping it 100.  I do love my native American inspired patchwork sweat jacket.  It is a more fashionable alternative to my old uninspiring sweatshirts that in my former b.b. (before blogging) life, you would have seen me in running my errands.  I have gotten better.  You can still be comfy, casual and drop it, drop, drop it low yet fashionable.

The low Casual Fit:
Blazer: K&G
Patchwork Sweatshirt:  New Age Riva
A Native American boutique in a local mall
Jeans and shirt: Target
Work Boots: ?
I bought the boots years ago before combat boots
were trendy for a step performance.

Thanks for letting me show you how I roll
Stay fly and stay tuned!

_____________________________________________________________

Well alright alright!  How y'all doin?
Today's outfit post is for my link up with everyone at Everybody Every Wear!
As you can see, this month's challenge is Black and White.  Now I know I mentioned it before, but I LOVE wearing black and white.  So needless to say I was excited to participate.  Talk about an easy challenge.  I previously did a post wearing black and white HERE, and it is one of my faves.  Black and white almost always turns out to be such a classic look.  If you don't believe me, click the link below to head over to EBEW and you will see exactly what I am talking about.  Those ladies are looking gorgeous!  In my outfit here, I decided to focus on the white with a touch of black and python.  I truly adore wearing white, I always feel so fresh and so clean, clean! (OutKast, circa 2000) That's until I rub up against something and then be mad about it for the rest of the day!  UGH! *breathe*

...I'm dressed so fresh and so clean...so fresh and so clean, clean!  *side note*  I love OutKast :-)

Random Bangles
Sunnies: Kenneth Cole Reaction

Thank you for visiting.

Well...this is my first official post of the New Year, so...Happy New Year to all of you that I haven't spoken to yet.  I wish you all happiness, good health, peace and blessings in 2012!

I would also like to welcome my new followers.  I appreciate all of you who find me remotely interesting.  You rock!

I didn't want to go so long in between my outfit posts but I only take pics on the weekends and my photographer went to visit his nana over the holiday break.  The boys came back the day before the break was over and this weekend was the first opportunity to go out and get some pics done.  I've missed posting but I think I am back on a posting 2-3 times a week schedule :-)

Now on to the outfit the night!  I went to an All Black Affair last night to celebrate a friend entering the 40/40 club and this is what I wore.

I've Been Tagged!

The sassy Ticka over at Spoon Full of Sugar has tagged me and I am going on with the get along.   It was actually kind of fun trying to figure out how to answer and what to ask. Interesting indeed.

The Rules:

1. Post these rules.
2. You must post 11 random things about yourself
3. Answer the questions the tagger set for you in their post
4. Create 11 new questions for the people you tag to answer.
5. Go to their blog and tell them that you've tagged them.
6. No stuff in the tagging section about 'you are tagged if you are reading this' You have to tag 11 peeps.

11 Random Things About Me:
1.   I can eat nothing but chicken and rice prepared any way for the rest of my life.
2.   I ran track year round from 4th grade until my 2nd year in college with VERY SMALL breaks.
3.   I carried the same every day purse for 2 years straight... I know sooo un-fashionista like.  I'm working on that.
4.   I am a morning person with night owl tendencies.
5.   I collect socks...character and prints.
6.   I don't wear white athletic socks.

7.   I'm not big on sweets (salt is my problem) I have to be in the mood for it.  Even the candy I eat is sour.
8.   I want to join an adult double dutch team.
9.   I am a homebody at heart but enjoy spending time with family and friends.
10. I am a BIG sports fan. My mom calls me the son she never had and the Mr. LOVES it.
11. I am a BIG music lover.  I can probably find at least one song from every genre that I like.

My Answers to Ticka's Questions:

1. Where did you grow up? The Boogie Down Bronx and the DMV (DC metro area)

2. Have you ever travelled outside of the country?  Yes...but would love to do it more often.

3. What is style to you? Style is being able to fashionably and authentically express who you are with carefully infusing current trends.

4. How has your style changed over the past few years? My style has matured and I've been allowing myself to loosen up just a little.  Still a work in progress though.

5. What is your greatest accomplishment?  I would like to say my career (which I am proud of) but honestly I feel it is building the family I have.

7. Do you have a piece of clothing that you refuse to give up or throw away?  Ummm...yeah!  Too many.  That's my problem.  The vast majority of my closet is older than my children.  Trends cycle you know and I like to be prepared...pfft.

8. Who is your greatest influence?  My mom...she is amazeballs!

9. What size shoe do you wear? I wear a 9 wide but most stores don't carry wides, so I just get a 10.

10. Who's the most famous person you've ever met?  I believe the most famous person would have to be Carl Lewis.
